Guardian angel on the road: New app warns car drivers and schoolchildren
Munich, 17 April 2015 - The new "Schutzranzen" (Safety Satchel) app helps to prevent dangerous traffic accidents involving schoolchildren. Walter B. Hildebrandt came up with the idea for the app in connection with his son’s first day at school. CONRAD CAINE is supporting the Schutzranzen project by handling the development of the product trailer.
Drivers who download the application to their smartphone or on-board computer are alerted when a schoolchild is near the road even before it can be seen. If the child comes too close to an approaching car, the cloud server transmits an acoustic and visual warning signal to the driver. For the system to work, the child must also have downloaded the Schutzranzen app. If the child does not have a smartphone, a GPS tracker can serve this function. For car drivers the app is available free of charge for iPhone and Android at www.schutzranzen.de.
