Conrad Caine crowns the best ideas for start-ups
Munich, 26 October 2015 – Conrad Caine, founder of his agency by the same name, took to the ring as referee on 24 October 2015 at the ‘Founders Fightnight’ in Munich’s Boxwerk. What mattered in this particular tournament were not flying fists, but powerful arguments. In this somewhat unusual founders’ competition, 13 young start-ups faced off in three rounds to defend their business and product ideas, after which the five judges then issued their critical statements in the boxing ring. Among the winners chosen by the public this year are Grillido, Sin Power, and Mazel.
The idea for the Founders Fightnight, where start-ups enter the boxing ring to compete with each other, goes back to Jan Küster, who has launched two founders’ competitions and is an amateur boxer himself. “Much of what I have to pay attention to in the boxing ring, I also teach to start-ups. For example, to remain in balance and control the ring. To possess perseverance, be quick on your feet, and react well,” said Küster. The competition has been broadcast by Bayerischer Rundfunk as a webisode called 'Startup Bavaria' since November 4, 2015. http://startupbavaria.de/#!2349
